Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Prints, which included the work Christ On The Cross Between Two Thieves (E. 37; Be. 12) by Jean Duvet. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,482.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Duvet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saints Sebastian, Anthony, and Roch (B. 10; Bersier 48; Eisler 70), which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 46,850.00 (€ 53,767.38).
