Despite a disappointment, a good price for Jean-Charles Pellerin

In December 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Apothéose de Napoléon by Jean-Charles Pellerin for USD 167.30 (€ 123.58). This price was achieved in the auction THE HOUSE SALE at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Apothéose de Napoléon is the most expensive artwork by Jean-Charles Pellerin that we have observed at auction so far.
