Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction European Paintings, Drawings & Sculptures, which included the work Moonrise by Jean Charles Cazin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,327.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Charles Cazin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French Tending The Garden , which sold at auction in February 2019 for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,083.66).
