This artwork by Jean-Baptiste Weyler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2020. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait of Henri de la Tour d’Auvergne, Viscount of Turenne (1611-1675), circa 1785 sold for GBP 3,276.00 (€ 3,659.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Weyler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Du Marquis De La Fayette in June 2010 with an auction result of EUR 157,000.00.

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Weyler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Du Marquis De La Fayette im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 157.000,00.
