Auction result well in line with expectations

The work A capriccio with a Roman temple and a fountain to the right by Jean-Baptiste Lallemand was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,329.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Lallemand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fishermen and courtesans in a Mediterranean port at sunset; and Fishermen and Turkish merchants in a Mediterrenean port atsunrise in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 102,000.00 (€ 82,597.78).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit A capriccio with a Roman temple and a fountain to the right von Jean-Baptiste Lallemand kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.329,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Lallemand erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fishermen and courtesans in a Mediterranean port at sunset; and Fishermen and Turkish merchants in a Mediterrenean port atsunrise im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 102.000,00 (€ 82.597,78).
