In September last year Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Sheep and cattle being led to market at sunrise; and A cattle market in a small town (2) by Jean-Baptiste de Roy. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,643.43), 36% above the upper estimate. Other works by Jean-Baptiste de Roy have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 9,051.99) in April 2000 for the work Cattle on a river bank, drovers conversing beyond; and Cattle and sheep on a river bank, a farmstead, shepherd and traveller beyond.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sheep and cattle being led to market at sunrise; and A cattle market in a small town (2) von Jean-Baptiste de Roy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.643,43) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste de Roy haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.287,50 (€ 9.051,99) im April 2000 für die Arbeit Cattle on a river bank, drovers conversing beyond; and Cattle and sheep on a river bank, a farmstead, shepherd and traveller beyond beobachtet.
