In February 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Pictures, which included the work An extensive landscape with herdsmen and cattle watering at a stream by Jean-Baptiste de Roy. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,380.02), 52% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Baptiste de Roy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cattle on a river bank, drovers conversing beyond; and Cattle and sheep on a river bank, a farmstead, shepherd and traveller beyond, which sold at auction in April 2000 for GBP 5,287.50 (€ 9,051.99).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 52 % übertroffen

Im Februar 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit An extensive landscape with herdsmen and cattle watering at a stream von Jean-Baptiste de Roy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.280,00 (€ 3.380,02) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste de Roy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cattle on a river bank, drovers conversing beyond; and Cattle and sheep on a river bank, a farmstead, shepherd and traveller beyond beobachtet, die im April 2000 für GBP 5.287,50 (€ 9.051,99) versteigert wurde.
