Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Jayashree Chakravarty was sold in the A Pioneering Vision: Works from the Collection of Shumita and Arani Bose auction at Christies in New York in September 2014. It changed hands for a price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,847.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jayashree Chakravarty - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2009 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 37,704.55).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jayashree Chakravarty wurde im September 2014 in der Auktion A Pioneering Vision: Works from the Collection of Shumita and Arani Bose bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 14.847,96) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jayashree Chakravarty mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März 2009 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 37.704,55) versteigert wurde.
