Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Under The Red Sky; Untitled by Jayashree Chakravarty. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,500.32), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jayashree Chakravarty have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March 2009 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 37,704.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Under The Red Sky; Untitled von Jayashree Chakravarty zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.500,32) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jayashree Chakravarty auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 37.704,55).
