This artwork by Jatin Das achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak auction, the work Tenderly Together sold for USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,086.81) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jatin Das; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Breathing Blue (Nude) sold at auction in March 2006 with the realized price of USD 13,200.00 (€ 10,874.04).
