Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Walmatjari Warriors) length: 65.0cm (25 9/16in). by Jarinyanu David Downs was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Bonhams in Sidney in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 3,444.00 (€ 3,209.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jarinyanu David Downs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dance of Kurtal in May 2003 with an auction result of AUD 23,500.00 (€ 13,008.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Walmatjari Warriors) length: 65.0cm (25 9/16in). von Jarinyanu David Downs wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Bonhams in Sidney versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 3.444,00 (€ 3.209,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jarinyanu David Downs auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dance of Kurtal im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 23.500,00 (€ 13.008,29).
