A top price for Jarinyanu David Downs - as previously expected
The work Dance of Kurtal by Jarinyanu David Downs was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in May 2003. The price achieved of AUD 23,500.00 (€ 13,008.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Dance of Kurtal is the most expensive artwork by Jarinyanu David Downs that we have observed at auctions so far.
