Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX, which included the work Red mushrooms by Janus de Winter. The price achieved of EUR 763.75 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 680.00 – 910.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Janus de Winter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A winter landscape with a farmhouse on the brink of the woods, which sold at auction in March 2000 for NLG 5,616.96 (€ 2,389.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX durch, in der auch die Arbeit Red mushrooms von Janus de Winter zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 763,75 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 680,00 – 910,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Janus de Winter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A winter landscape with a farmhouse on the brink of the woods beobachtet, die im März 2000 für NLG 5.616,96 (€ 2.389,58) versteigert wurde.
