Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Purple Orchids by Janus de Winter. Here, the upper estimate of NLG 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for NLG 819.14 (€ 348.48). Admittedly, works by Janus de Winter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A winter landscape with a farmhouse on the brink of the woods in March 2000 with an auction result of NLG 5,616.96 (€ 2,389.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Purple Orchids von Janus de Winter zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von NLG 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für NLG 819,14 (€ 348,48) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Janus de Winter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A winter landscape with a farmhouse on the brink of the woods im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 5.616,96 (€ 2.389,58).
