Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,042.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Janetta Susan Gillespie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Silver Tray, which sold at auction in August 2008 for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,175.32).
