Despite a disappointment, a good price for Janet Nathan
In March 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Mud Flats 2 by Janet Nathan for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,347.94). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art including The Olga Davenport Collection at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Mud Flats 2 is the most expensive artwork by Janet Nathan that we have observed at auction so far.
