Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale, which included the work Playing Iv by Jane Lee. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 94,500.00 (€ 10,466.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jane Lee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fetish Beige in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 1,187,500.00 (€ 133,789.66).
