Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Handkerchief White by Jane Lee was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 220,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 226,800.00 (€ 25,119.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jane Lee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fetish Beige in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 1,187,500.00 (€ 133,789.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Handkerchief White von Jane Lee wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 220.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 226.800,00 (€ 25.119,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jane Lee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fetish Beige im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.187.500,00 (€ 133.789,66).
