In June 2008 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Dutch Ticino by Jan Wiegers. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 27,150.00 36% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Wiegers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch Music Hall in June 2008 with an auction result of EUR 216,750.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2008 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch Ticino von Jan Wiegers zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 27.150,00 und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Wiegers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dutch Music Hall im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 216.750,00.
