Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A group portrait of an elegantly dressed family by a classical building, with a boy approaching, holding game and a rifle, a coastal landscape beyond by Jan Weenix. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 112,900.00 (€ 134,149.62). Other works by Jan Weenix have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 135,750.00 (€ 219,505.96) in July 2000 for the work A sunflower, roses, parrot tulips, a carnation and other flowers in a glass vase on a partly draped marble table.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A group portrait of an elegantly dressed family by a classical building, with a boy approaching, holding game and a rifle, a coastal landscape beyond von Jan Weenix zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 100.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 112.900,00 (€ 134.149,62) einen neuen Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Jan Weenix haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 135.750,00 (€ 219.505,96) im Juli 2000 für die Arbeit A sunflower, roses, parrot tulips, a carnation and other flowers in a glass vase on a partly draped marble table beobachtet.
