The work Portrait of Pieter van Heemskerck (1637-1716), standing half length by a balustrade, wearing a yellow lined, brown Japanse rok and lace shirt, his right arm resting on a balustrade before him; and Portrait of Elisabeth van Heemskerck, née Pruys van by Jan van Rossum was sold in the Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2000. It achieved a price of NLG 23,404.00 (€ 10,219.18), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Rossum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bouquet de Fleurs Sur Un Rebord En Pierre Derrière Un Rideau in June 2005 with an auction result of EUR 224,800.00.

Die Arbeit Portrait of Pieter van Heemskerck (1637-1716), standing half length by a balustrade, wearing a yellow lined, brown Japanse rok and lace shirt, his right arm resting on a balustrade before him; and Portrait of Elisabeth van Heemskerck, née Pruys van von Jan van Rossum wurde im Mai 2000 in der Auktion Old Master Pictures bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von NLG 23.404,00 (€ 10.219,18) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Rossum erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bouquet de Fleurs Sur Un Rebord En Pierre Derrière Un Rideau im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 224.800,00.
