Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Dutch The Skirmish by Jan van Huchtenburg for GBP 16,100.00 (€ 20,479.90). This price was achieved in the auction European Paintings including German, Austrian & Central European Paintings and The Orientalist Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Jan van Huchtenburg have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2021 by the work John Churchill, 1St Duke Of Marlborough (1650–1722) And Prince Eugene Of Savoy (1663–1736), On Horseback At The Battle Of Blenheim (Hochstedt) at GBP 35,280.00 (€ 40,582.26).
