Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jan van der Heyden could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction, the work A Palatial Garden, With Figures Emerging From A Palace To The Right, An Arcade Beyond And A Balustrade To The Left, The Roof Of The Huis Ten Bosch Visible In The Distance changed hands for GBP 230,500.00 (€ 296,729.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan van der Heyden - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Dom and Domhof, Cologne, which sold at auction in July 2019 for GBP 551,250.00 (€ 605,235.85).

Für andere Arbeiten von Jan van der Heyden mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Dom and Domhof, Cologne beobachtet, die im Juli 2019 für GBP 551.250,00 (€ 605.235,85) versteigert wurde.
