The work A capriccio view of Arnhem by Jan van der Heyden was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in December 2018. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 404,750.00 (€ 450,927.40), 62% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jan van der Heyden; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Dom and Domhof, Cologne sold at auction in July 2019 with the realized price of GBP 551,250.00 (€ 605,235.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 62 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit A capriccio view of Arnhem von Jan van der Heyden wurde im Dezember 2018 in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 404.750,00 (€ 450.927,40) und damit 62% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jan van der Heyden; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Dom and Domhof, Cologne im Juli 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 551.250,00 (€ 605.235,85).
