Sold at the lower estimate price
In July 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A Young Lady Playing The Harp by Jan Tilius. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,214.74) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Tilius - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A hurdy-gurdy player with an old woman singing and a mocking youth at a casement, which sold at auction in July 2009 for GBP 43,250.00 (€ 49,075.79).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Young Lady Playing The Harp von Jan Tilius zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.214,74) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Tilius mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A hurdy-gurdy player with an old woman singing and a mocking youth at a casement beobachtet, die im Juli 2009 für GBP 43.250,00 (€ 49.075,79) versteigert wurde.
