In May 2021 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction The Curator’s Eye: The Collection of Professor Dr Karin von Maur, which included this untitled work by Jan Schoonhoven. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 7,500.00 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Schoonhoven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Weisses Strukturrelief R 62-1 in February 2010 with an auction result of GBP 780,450.00 (€ 870,664.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion The Curator’s Eye: The Collection of Professor Dr Karin von Maur durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jan Schoonhoven zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 7.500,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Schoonhoven erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Weisses Strukturrelief R 62-1 im Februar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 780.450,00 (€ 870.664,54).
