Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2013 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work Shipping Off The Coast In A Gale by Jan Porcellis. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 3,750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Porcellis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A damlooper and rowboat in a choppy sea by a jetty in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,563.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2013 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shipping Off The Coast In A Gale von Jan Porcellis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 3.750,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Porcellis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A damlooper and rowboat in a choppy sea by a jetty im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 37.563,32).
