Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work A fishing boat and a rowing boat in choppy waters, a Dutch three-master in the distance by Jan Porcellis. It changed hands for a price of EUR 23,900.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Other works by Jan Porcellis have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2020 the work A damlooper and rowboat in a choppy sea by a jetty was auctioned for USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,563.32).

Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A fishing boat and a rowing boat in choppy waters, a Dutch three-master in the distance von Jan Porcellis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 23.900,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Jan Porcellis konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2020 die Arbeit A damlooper and rowboat in a choppy sea by a jetty für USD 43.750,00 (€ 37.563,32) versteigert.
