In December 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Pictures, which included the work Roses, Tulips, Carnations And An Iris In A Glass Vase On A Draped Stone Ledge by Jan Philips van Thielen. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 66,500.00 (€ 90,362.22), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Philips van Thielen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tulips, yellow roses and dog roses in a glass vase on a stone ledge, with a leather pen case and a paper identifying the tulips, which sold at auction in May 2003 for EUR 296,450.00.

Im Dezember 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Roses, Tulips, Carnations And An Iris In A Glass Vase On A Draped Stone Ledge von Jan Philips van Thielen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 66.500,00 (€ 90.362,22) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Philips van Thielen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tulips, yellow roses and dog roses in a glass vase on a stone ledge, with a leather pen case and a paper identifying the tulips beobachtet, die im Mai 2003 für EUR 296.450,00 versteigert wurde.
