Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper, which included the work Garlands Of Roses, Tulips, Narcissi, Snowdrops, Hyacinths And Convolvuli, With Grapes, Ears Of Corn And Heads Of Maize, Surrounding The Host In A Sculpted Niche by Jan Philips van Thielen. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,519.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Philips van Thielen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tulips, yellow roses and dog roses in a glass vase on a stone ledge, with a leather pen case and a paper identifying the tulips in May 2003 with an auction result of EUR 296,450.00.

Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Garlands Of Roses, Tulips, Narcissi, Snowdrops, Hyacinths And Convolvuli, With Grapes, Ears Of Corn And Heads Of Maize, Surrounding The Host In A Sculpted Niche von Jan Philips van Thielen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.519,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Philips van Thielen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tulips, yellow roses and dog roses in a glass vase on a stone ledge, with a leather pen case and a paper identifying the tulips im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 296.450,00.
