In January 2002 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Composition, Tanger Marokko by Jan Meijer. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,115.00 51% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Meijer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Alaska, 1981-1983, which sold at auction in June 2010 for EUR 8,288.00.

Im Januar 2002 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition, Tanger Marokko von Jan Meijer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.115,00 und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Meijer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Alaska, 1981-1983 beobachtet, die im Juni 2010 für EUR 8.288,00 versteigert wurde.
