Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A cavalry engagement by Jan Martszen the Younger was sold in the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction at Christies in London in December 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,422.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Martszen the Younger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Wooded Dune Landscape With Bandits Holding Up A Covered Wagon, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 23,300.00 (€ 31,660.75).
