Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Pictures & Old Master Drawings, which included the work A wooded river landscape with a traveller on a track by Jan Looten. The price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,190.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Looten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Rocky Wooded River Landscape With Travelers Along A Path, which sold at auction in June 2008 for USD 53,125.00 (€ 33,734.44).
