Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work An Italianate River Landscape With A Bridge by Jan Hackaert was worth EUR 6,250.00 to a buyer in December 2014. This price was achieved in the auction The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part II. Dutch and Flemish Drawings from 1500-1900 at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 1,800.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Hackaert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Wooded Landscape With A Shepherd And His Herd On A Path, Near A Puddle, which sold at auction in May 2008 for EUR 13,450.00.
