Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work An Italianate Landscape With Travellers Ambushed By Bandits by Jan Hackaert for USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,580.35). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Jan Hackaert have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2008 by the work A Wooded Landscape With A Shepherd And His Herd On A Path, Near A Puddle at EUR 13,450.00.
