It achieved a price of NLG 2,340.40 (€ 1,028.76), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by Jan Gerard Smits have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Damrak entree Amsterdam: a view of the Damrak, Amsterdam in February 2004 with an auction result of EUR 8,365.00.

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von NLG 2.340,40 (€ 1.028,76) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Gerard Smits auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Damrak entree Amsterdam: a view of the Damrak, Amsterdam im Februar 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.365,00.
