The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,200.00 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Frederik Schutz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A coastal trader and a fishing barge in calm waters at dawn, which sold at auction in June 2003 for GBP 8,225.00 (€ 11,819.77).

Die Arbeit Busy fishermen von Jan Frederik Schutz wurde im Januar 2007 in der Auktion Pictures,Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.200,00 und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Frederik Schutz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A coastal trader and a fishing barge in calm waters at dawn beobachtet, die im Juni 2003 für GBP 8.225,00 (€ 11.819,77) versteigert wurde.
