Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,513.91). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Frans Soolmaker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Herders resting in an italianate landscape, which sold at auction in April 2007 for USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,663.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit An evening landscape with a shepherd resting with his flock by a house von Jan Frans Soolmaker wurde im April 2007 in der Auktion Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.513,91) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Frans Soolmaker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Herders resting in an italianate landscape beobachtet, die im April 2007 für USD 13.200,00 (€ 9.663,25) versteigert wurde.
