Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work A Young Man Holding A Tankard by Jan Cossiers. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,773.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Cossiers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Parable Of The Prodigal Son in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 662,500.00 (€ 852,857.20).
