Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Still Life With Apples, A Bottle And Earthenware by Jan Carbaat was sold in the Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours auction at Sothebys in Amsterdam in March 2007. The price achieved of EUR 1,200.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Carbaat - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A still life with a German jug and autumn leaves, which sold at auction in March 2000 for NLG 6,085.04 (€ 2,588.72).

Die Arbeit A Still Life With Apples, A Bottle And Earthenware von Jan Carbaat wurde im März 2007 in der Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.200,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Carbaat mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A still life with a German jug and autumn leaves beobachtet, die im März 2000 für NLG 6.085,04 (€ 2.588,72) versteigert wurde.
