In January 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings, which included the work Saint Barbara by Jan Boeckhorst. The »bidding war« ended at USD 26,290.00 (€ 21,113.07), 46% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Boeckhorst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Alexander The Great Crowning Roxana in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 150,000.00 (€ 135,220.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Barbara von Jan Boeckhorst zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 26.290,00 (€ 21.113,07) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Boeckhorst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alexander The Great Crowning Roxana im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 150.000,00 (€ 135.220,41).
