This artwork by Jan Boeckhorst achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2007. In the Old Master and British Pictures auction, the work Alexander Crowning Roxana sold for GBP 70,100.00 (€ 95,254.01) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jan Boeckhorst; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Alexander The Great Crowning Roxana sold at auction in January 2020 with the realized price of USD 150,000.00 (€ 135,220.41).
