In January 2002 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings including Property from, which included the work An extensive panoramic landscape with a windmill by Jan Baptist Weenix. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,150.00 (€ 24,610.19), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Baptist Weenix achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italianate landscape with a shepherd showing a woman his flock in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 248,750.00 (€ 277,129.56).
