Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2019 Artcurial in Marrakech held the auction Majorelle and his Contemporaries, which included the work L'héritier du Caïd by Jan Baptist Huysmans. Here, the upper estimate of MAD 132,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for MAD 143,000.00 (€ 13,628.75). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Baptist Huysmans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Un nuage en plein soleil: A plume of smoke in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 217,250.00 (€ 276,018.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Artcurial in Marrakesch die Auktion Majorelle and his Contemporaries durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'héritier du Caïd von Jan Baptist Huysmans zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von MAD 132.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für MAD 143.000,00 (€ 13.628,75) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Baptist Huysmans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Un nuage en plein soleil: A plume of smoke im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 217.250,00 (€ 276.018,57).
