Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2009 Sothebys in Doha held the auction A Collection of Orientalist Art, which included the work Belgian A Game Of Chess by Jan Baptist Huysmans. The price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 23,565.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Baptist Huysmans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Un nuage en plein soleil: A plume of smoke in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 217,250.00 (€ 276,018.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2009 führte Sothebys in Doha die Auktion A Collection of Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Belgian A Game Of Chess von Jan Baptist Huysmans zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 23.565,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Baptist Huysmans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Un nuage en plein soleil: A plume of smoke im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 217.250,00 (€ 276.018,57).
