Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Aesop telling a Fable by Jan Adam Kruseman was auctioned at Christies in London in July last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,513.99). Admittedly, works by Jan Adam Kruseman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rebecca met de geschenken van Eliëzer: an oriental beauty in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 38,650.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Aesop telling a Fable von Jan Adam Kruseman im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.513,99) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Adam Kruseman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rebecca met de geschenken van Eliëzer: an oriental beauty im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 38.650,00.
