Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Shepherd With Cows) by Jamini Prakash Gangooly. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,468.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jamini Prakash Gangooly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Demon in my Dreadful Dream during Delirium in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 44,100.00 (€ 37,554.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Shepherd With Cows) von Jamini Prakash Gangooly zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.468,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jamini Prakash Gangooly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Demon in my Dreadful Dream during Delirium im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 37.554,29).
