Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Purple Abstract by Jamil Molaeb was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction at Christies in Paris in November this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,450.00 (€ 10,950.50), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jamil Molaeb - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Arab Village I, which sold at auction in October 2011 for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,039.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Purple Abstract von Jamil Molaeb wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.450,00 (€ 10.950,50) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jamil Molaeb mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Arab Village I beobachtet, die im Oktober 2011 für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.039,47) versteigert wurde.
