The work BEIRUT by Jamil Molaeb was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction at Christies in Dubai in May this year. It achieved a price of USD 20,160.00 (€ 18,922.47), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jamil Molaeb; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Arab Village I sold at auction in October 2011 with the realized price of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,039.47).

Die Arbeit BEIRUT von Jamil Molaeb wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern Art bei Christies in Dubai versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 18.922,47) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jamil Molaeb; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Arab Village I im Oktober 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.039,47).
