Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art / Middle East, which included the work Birds On Wheat by Jamil Molaeb. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,292.00 (€ 5,876.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jamil Molaeb have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Arab Village I in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,039.47).
